Thanks for the mention of my presentation. I think that one of the most challenging things in higher ed branding is that being clear about what you are means also being clear about what you are not. Many universities have been reluctant to do this, as they want to cast a wide net so as not to exclude anyone. This has been difficult for us as well, but I think we're getting bolder - trying to be clear about what we are so that students for whom DePaul is not the right choice know this early on.

Thank you Matt and Sean for your commentary.

It has been really interesting to see how Google +1 has taken shape, now that is slowly progressing from the Early Adopters into the Early Majority.

Although it certainly has become more popularized, I have yet to see the "end game". At this point, it very restricted in its ability to truly influence and engage. Earning a +1 certainly adds credibility to a brand online; however, if Google +1 still has no bearing on Google's search algorithms, I don't believe consumer behavior will dramatically change quite yet. Thus, I remain unconvinced that Google +1 will "takeover" Facebook, as some articles have suggested.

I think Google +1 and search overall has great potential; but until Google takes it to the next level, I think marketers are at a stand still. As you mentioned Sean, I hope Google will further Google +1 sooner rather than later. Only then can PR and marketing strategists truly develop their brands and make light of this new technology.

Thanks again.
