As president and CEO, Eric M. Morgenstern has built Morningstar Communications into an all-star team of marketing, public relations, and communications professionals who are dedicated to meeting and exceeding the needs of each client. He has established a philosophy to “Think excellence, not difference” to enable employees and clients to become leaders. Eric also provides strategic business counsel to CEOs and other executives at top companies throughout the country.
In 1997, Eric founded Morningstar Communications, a natural pinnacle to his 30-year career. The company has experienced significant growth in its 10-year history and was twice named by The Kansas City Business Journal as one of Kansas City’s “Best Places to Work.” Previously, Eric served as president and chief operating officer for Boasberg Valentine Radford, as the manager of public information for Hallmark Cards and as an account manager for Brewer Advertising, a division of Young & Rubicam.
Eric is highly regarded by both colleagues and the community at-large. He recently was honored by the Counselors Academy section of the Public Relations Society of America as a member of the inaugural class of SAGE (Strategic Advisors for Growth and Excellence) Counselors. Eric was elected to the International PRSA College of Fellows in 2001 and is the only practicing Fellow in greater Kansas City. He was selected as part of the inaugural class of 30 in the Helzberg Leadership Institute. In addition, Eric has won numerous local awards in the public relations industry.
Eric is an experienced and highly sought-after speaker. His speaking experience spans industry, community and higher-education audiences on national, regional and local levels.
Eric has been a facilitator and speaker for industry leading companies, including Verizon Wireless, Cerner Corporation, Burns & McDonnell, DST Systems and Sprint. In addition, he has presented to prestigious organizations including the International Association of Business Communicators, American Marketing Association, Business Marketers Association and National Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Community involvement remains a high priority for Eric. His volunteer activities include serving on the Professional Advisory Board for the University of Kansas Master's Program in Integrated Marketing Communications and the Board of Trustees of the William Allen White Society.
In addition to donating his time, Eric provides pro bono communications counseling to a wide variety of civic and professional endeavors. He is a member of the KU Alumni Integrated Marketing Advisory Council, and part of the marketing team for the Kansas City Area Development Council.
