As president of Paul Werth Associates, Sandra W. Harbrecht has led the firm through a period of growth, achievement and national recognition. She provides senior-level strategic counsel for communications and community engagement outreach. She also conducts training programs in areas such as community relations, spokesperson training, change management and conflict resolution.
Since she was named president, the firm has won eight of its nine prestigious Silver Anvil Awards, including a Best of Silver Anvil. Paul Werth Associates also has been honored during her tenure with a variety of other local and national awards for public relations and marketing.
Before joining Paul Werth Associates, Ms. Harbrecht spent 10 years as a public school teacher in elementary and special education classes with the Worthington City Schools. In 1978, she received the Jennings Award, presented triennially for outstanding teaching in Ohio.
Ms. Harbrecht holds two master's degrees from The Ohio State University: a master of arts in education and a master of business administration. She is a magna cum laude graduate from Kent State University with a bachelor of science degree.
Ms. Harbrecht is a frequent speaker for various regional and national business and professional organizations including the National Financial Managers Society, the American Academy of Health Care Administrators, the Public Relations Society of America and the International Association of Business Communicators. She also is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America and past chair of the Society's Counselors Academy.
She is chair of the Board of Trustees for Kent State University and on the Dean's Advisory Council for the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University. She also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Ingram/White Castle Foundation of The Columbus Foundation. She previously served on the Board of the Council of Public Relations Firms.
