Don Galletly

Senior Vice President, Director, Investor Relations Practice Group

After more than two decades of multi-industry corporate communications and investor relations experience, Don joined Devine + Powers to head the IR practice offering program evaluation, development and implementation, financial media relations, quarterly reporting assistance, investor targeting and annual report services.

Don started at CBS, Inc. in 1977 in financial planning and analysis before entering the company’s IR department in 1982.  His career has taken him from CBS to The News Corporation Ltd. to American Medical Holding, Inc. to Dresser Industries, Inc. and, most recently, to Weatherford International Ltd.  That career has represented the Broadcast/Publishing/Entertainment, Healthcare and Energy industries.

At Weatherford from 1998-2003, Don was senior vice president for corporate marketing.  He was recruited by the company to reposition it before investors and customers in the wake of a 1998 merger between EVI, Inc. and Weatherford Enterra, Inc.  The investor relations role required a strong background in finance as well as the economics of energy markets in the U.S. and around the world.  In addition to responsibility for IR, Don developed a marketing services function to source the company’s needs for advertising, product publications, trade show support, as well as, business, trade and financial media relations.  The IR program doubled the sell-side coverage and significantly broadened institutional ownership during a period of significant M&A activity and an offshore re-incorporation.

From 1993-1998, Don was vice president, investor and public relations for Dresser Industries, Inc.  While there, he rebuilt and expanded the company’s IR effort through aggressive outreach.  He also established a corporate PR capability and led the development of a new corporate branding program.

While at American Medical Holdings, Don developed an IR program for the stub stock of a Leveraged Buy Out.  Successes included expanded analyst and institutional following and moving the company’s exchange listing to the NYSE prior to a successful $475 million capital restructuring in 1993.

Prior to AMH, he developed a global investor relations program for then Australian-based media conglomerate, The News Corporation Limited.  The program was successful in expanding the U.S. shareholder base from 6% to 25% of the company’s stock float.  He also spearheaded News Corp.’s exchange listings in Europe and the Far East.

Don earned an undergraduate degree in American Civilization from Williams College (’73) and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (’77).
