Lobedu MS&L in South Africa operates both domestic and multi-country programs for clients ranging from local start-ups to global brand leaders. Not only are its teams skilled in interrogating and challenging briefs in order to identify the strongest and most effective role for public relations within the total communications strategy, but they are also adept at using non-traditional strategies to change minds.

One point of difference for Lobedu MS&L is the environment it works in. The company operates in a very distinctive and unusual market. Not only does South Africa have a sophisticated first world economy, but it is also still very much a developing nation. Its public relation programs generally have to accommodate a wider target audience - an audience which sometimes has a high illiteracy rate and which has 11 official languages. So, although we rely on sophisticated communication tools, innovation is at the core of our delivery as well.

One of the other main challenges facing Lobedu MS&L is the fact that many clients are looking at global programs while wanting to retain their African roots. Globalization is a key factor in our work. And unlike many other nations, South Africa is home to many different political agendas and Union negotiations are a major fact of life for many top companies which impacts on the kind of public relations work we do.

Current clients include Coca-Cola, Eskom, General Motors, and M-Net.
