Julie

Account Director, London

Julie has been with MS&L for one year.

What made you move from journalism into PR?

Having spent eight years as a journalist, five of which were as a specialist health and science correspondent on UK national newspapers and newswires, I felt it was time for a new challenge. I also knew that there was a real opportunity to use my insights to help bridge the gap that can sometimes emerge between the media and the communications industry to the benefit of everyone. It seemed like a great opportunity to use my existing skills and knowledge in a brand new way.

What attracted you to joining MS&L?

I was drawn to the company for many reasons including the interesting clients, the global network, the company’s outlook and the great connection I felt with the rest of the team. I knew it would be an excellent place to start my new career in PR.

What aspects of the job do you most enjoy?

I get a great deal of satisfaction from being able to use my media expertise and insights to advise, support and deliver results for clients. Seeing a program all the way through from the initial idea right through to securing coverage across selected media is very rewarding. I am also really enjoying learning all the other skills involved in PR, which until I moved into the industry, I never knew even existed.
